It does not feel like December!

I can't get used to the fact that it is December! I think it is due to the fact that here in Houston, it is 80 degrees. Don't get me wrong, I like it being warm but there's just something about the cold and snow that "makes the season bright"! OK I know I'm cheesy but it's true! It's hard to get in the spirit of Christmas when it feels like July! Plus I have a whole closet full of long sleeve shirts that I really haven't gotten to wear yet! Oh and I like buying winter clothes but I just can't justify it- to myself let alone Dave! I get to go home on Wednesday! I am so excited even though I just went home last weekend. This time though I get to see my friends and actually hang out with my family. My friend and I are going to try to go skiing while I am there. I'm not going to lie, I haven't gone skiing for about four years so I'm a little nervous. Dave is doing well. He was sick last week and lost about 14 pounds but he's feeling a lot better now. He is flying into Salt Lake on the 20th. His brother Nathan just got off his mission and Dave is real excited to see him. Really, there is nothing better than the Holidays. Once you get past the stress of making sure everyone gets the presents they want, this is my favorite time of year! I love being around family and friends and just the happy feeling that goes along with it! I hope everyone else is doing great and has Merry Christmas!

Yay! Theresa got married!

Hey Everyone
Thank you so much for leaving comments! It is so fun to hear from you all!
This weekend was definitely busy! I got to go home for my oldest sister Theresa's wedding! I had bought a plane ticket so I would arrive home at around 10:30 pm on Thursday but when I got to the airport in Houston, they said that my flight was cancelled! Not delayed-but CANCELLED! They told me that I could catch the 9:30pm flight but I wouldn't be able to make it into Idaho Falls until the next day, or I could wait and take the 7:45am flight the next day and pretty much get to Idaho Falls at the same time - so obviously I decided to stay the night at home and take the 7:45 flight. I was so upset! So I finally ended up in Idaho Falls around noon. Other than that, the weekend went really smoothly. For the rest of Friday, I ran some errands with mom, then Theresa met us in at the mall and we went and got pedicures. After that, we went to mom's house and finished getting everything ready for the big day. If any one knows Theresa, she tends to put things off until the last minute so we kind of had a lot of things to get ready. Theresa worked on her slide show until about midnight and then we slept in the same room. Have you ever slept in the same room of someone who is going to get married the next day? She woke up almost every hour asking what time it was and then she kept talking about the guest book- needless to say I didn't get much sleep! When we woke up the next day, Theresa and I went to my friend Aricca's house to get her hair done. Then we headed to the temple. Theresa looked sooo pretty and stayed in a good mood! After the wedding, she made us go outside and do pictures for about an hour. I was freezing! I think I like summer weddings better for that reason! It really was a perfect day though. Everything went really smooth and she had tons of support! It was a very short trip but is was so nice to be see all of my family!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't believe that it's already this time of year! Dave and I had to spend this Thanksgiving away from family. I was really bummed about it but everything turned out alright. We actually had three offers for Thanksgiving dinner! We ended up going over to the Stake President's house along with some other friends. I kind of felt grown up! I even made a banana pudding that my mom always makes- and it actually turned out to taste really good! Although nothing is as good as spending the Holidays with your family, Dave and I survived and it was nice to meet other people. That's one thing that I really love about Sugar Land, everyone has been so nice and inviting. I think that's why I haven't had as hard of a time moving as I expected. I was thinking about everything I was grateful for and really I feel that I am truly blessed. I am so thankful for all of my family and friends and all of the influences in my life that has made me the person I am! I love you all!

What's this blog thing?

Ok my cousin Sharie has a blog and it is so cool. It's like a journal that you can share! Obviously I am not up to date on this kind of thing! Now that I have moved away, I thought this would be a good way to let my friends and family stay updated in our lives (although there is really nothing that interesting going on!) So far we love living in Texas. We live in a really nice little area and everyone has been so nice to us. I guess it's that Southern Hospitality! It's great to live next to Dave's sister and her family. I think because of them, that's why our transition has been pretty smooth! On Thursday, Angie, Janice, and I went to So You Think You Can Dance. It was so much fun. It was definetely a production but it made me miss all of my dancing buddies! Next year, if they come to Houston again, I expect some of my friends to come down and come with me! Well this is going to be fun to blog! Ok family and friends, I think you need to start one too!
